Grass From Goodison

Leaving my teenage years behind, I realise now that time is a thief. As my younger brother enters the next chapter of his life, his teenage years, I long to go back and tell myself to enjoy it to the fullest. With him being thirteen, I have the chance to do that. ‘Grass from Goodison’ is the beginning of an ongoing documentative project that explores the subjects of growth, change and adolescence. Photographing him on a day to day, in these periods where childhood and adulthood are conflicting, I yearn to keep him this young forever. I create the work not only about him, but as a way for me to relive that time in my life, and for myself and our parents to watch him evolve as he undergoes one of the most wonderful, confusing eras of his life, where transformation is inevitable yet fascinating.
